Here's some testimonials...
"On Friday afternoon I was privileged to glimpse the possibility of what can be achieved by a little boy who was surrounded by your talent, encouragement and positivity."
“My kids went to the first series of these Music Theatre intensives and they had the most amazing experience, so I am keen to spread the word to parents of kids I think would really enjoy this kind of experience!
Even my son, who is the more reserved and self-conscious of my two, came home full of excitement and enthusiasm, announcing that he wanted to study voice and singing. This is a boy who previously had been too self conscious to even sing in front of the family. Even better, he learned to do cartwheels! My daughter of course had a ball. New friendships blossomed and it was a beautifully tight knit group by the end of the week!
And I can't recommend the teacher facilitators more highly. John, previously the other half of The Scared Weird Little Guys, is a gifted musician and singer, and a sensitive responsive teacher; Judi his partner is a wonderful actor and teacher and a graduate of NIDA; and Sam, the dance teacher, is warm and engaging with the children, creating an atmosphere of safety and encouragement. Well, you can see that I'm a fan!"
"Congratulations on creating such a fab school holiday program. Have you ever thought of traveling and doing a school holiday program here on the Gold Coast for us Queenslanders?"
"I just wanted to email and say how pleased I was with the bootcamp. I have seen a dramatic difference in my daughter's creative confidence and presenting in front of others as well as her general interactions when meeting new people. I was also impressed with how you managed to get a group of kids who had never met to put on a show in a week. You'd probably to struggle to get a group of adults to do that in a week let alone a group of kids!"

Who we are
We are a group of industry professionals from the performing arts who aim to bring our own skills and experience to your children. We started the program back in late 2011. They had been working on programs in a school context and were looking for an inspiring program for their own kids to do over the summer. Not finding one, they decided to create one. Today the team has changed slightly, but the philosophy of allowing each child to blossom in their own way continues.
All Music Theatre Boot Camp facilitators have a current Working with Children check and/or are registered teachers.
JUDI CHAPLIN is a NIDA trained actor and has worked on screen and on stage around the world. Her script working and improvisation skills make her a great director while her gentle yet firm guiding hand gives the programs the leadership they need.
JOHN FLEMING toured the world with comedy music duo Scared Weird Little Guys and has worked in children's theatre, evolved new work for the stage and musically directed shows. He teaches singing and performs regularly with a number of shows.
GABRIEL SIMBINE is an experienced dancer and musician who has taught dance around the world. His easy style and relaxed manner make him perfect for the work and he always gets the best from the kids in the program.
LISA HANLEY is a graduate of WAAPA and a highly skilled music theatre performer. She is actively working in shows around Australia and we are thrilled to have her as part of the program.
My child attended Music Theatre Boot Camp not knowing anyone and being out of (her) comfort zone. She showed a passion for wanting to be on the stage but has always struggled in school with learning difficulties that prevent her being able to read and write at the same level as her peers. However after a week of attending the school holiday program she had flourished. Her confidence had increased and she made a friend instantly. (A big step for someone that had been getting bullied at school). Her speech and articulation had improved dramatically and there was no anxiety over not being able to read or fit in with her peers. MTBC helped her unleashed some hidden talents and beam with confidence. Thank you for helping her and our family life to be more positive.
I just wanted to say thank-you for the creative program your team put on last week. I didn’t really know what to expect when I signed my daughter up for the program but I was very impressed with both the process and the end product. Your facilitators clearly provided an environment where the children felt safe to explore their ideas creatively but also guided them on how to work together to develop their ideas into a cohesive script. I will certainly be recommending your program to friends.
Thanks for everything you've done for them this week, they've loved it every day and appear to have learned a lot about working hard, camaraderie and trying something new. No doubt about theatre also. So great.
Thanks to all the love, commitment and energy you give to the kids in this program. D'Arcy has had a ball and enjoyed her second program even better than the first. Thanks again for giving kids this opportunity. You must be very proud.
Thanks so much for another great week of music theatre fun. It's amazing what you guys produce. Congratulations on the success of your programme. We feel very lucky to have found you.
I just wanted to thank you all for giving my son a rare opportunity to feel himself succeed. I have very rarely seen him so genuinely proud of himself, it was a great gift to him and our family. You guys did such a great job this week and as a theatre practitioner I really see how you empowered all those kids. That really comes across.
